Tom Potter
Owner & Operator
I have been in the auto industry since 1989. I am an ASE Master Technician , a Mercedes-Benz Master Technician and Master Advisor. I was 1 of 2 AMG Specialists while at Crown Mercedes. ( My service advisor Richard Webb was the other )
I’m originally from Eaton County, Michigan. I moved to Florida in 1984. I have been married since June 2003, and have 2 children. My hobbies and interests include time with my family, cars, boating, bicycling and weight training.
I decided to pursue my dream of owning and operating a service & repair center that would exceed others by focusing on customer service as well as high quality work. We will do our very best to exceed your expectations!

Service Advisor
After leaving school in England I went to work at an independent shop with my father as a trainee mechanic. After about 4 years I was approached by the service manager of a Citroen dealership and moved over as a technician. I soon decided that I would prefer to be helping the client as a service writer. I moved up after a couple of years to be the service managers assistant.
After many years of vacationing to Florida I decided to move to Florida after my parents had moved here. Redington Shores is where I met my wife of 21 years. She is from Clearwater FL born and raised. I had applied at Crown Jaguar in St.Pete for a service writer position. I got the job, but ended up starting at the Crown Mercedes store. I enjoyed my position as service writer and soon became Certified then Star Certified and finally master certified with the addition as the only Maybach advisor at the store. I also earned AMG certification. I was at Crown for over 19 years.
Then after speaking to Tom Potter, whom I had worked with for about 10 years at the Crown store, I realized that I needed to get away from the dealership and so he offered me a position. Tom's work ethic is second to none and I was so excited to come on board and be a part of his team. The team we have has all the attributes to work on German cars and to be the best! So happy to be here.
The mission of Potter's Precision Imports (PPI) is to strive for
continued growth in the Tampa Bay Area by providing quality automotive repair services by a team of automobile specialists who are dedicated to the complete satisfaction of each and every member of the community that brings their vehicle to our shop for service and repair.
